Lithology:
The formation is characetrized by mature quartz arenite, with lesser ferruginous arenite and siltstone. Arenites are typically massively bedded, exhibiting cross-bedding and ripple marks, and locally within the finer-grained rocks, mud cracks and dessication features (Thurston et al., 1992, p. 570).

Paleo Environment:
marine, shallow

Relationship:
Belongs to the Cogalt Group, Huronian Supergroup (Thurston et al., 1992). It conformably overlies the Gordon Lake Formation.
