Type Locality:
East Arm Great Slave Lake.

Distribution:
Maximum combined thickness of component groups exceeds 8,400 m (27,000 ft). It occurs in the area of the East Arm of Great Slave Lake.

Lithology:
Principally varicoloured clastics, carbonates and some volcanics. Can be subdivided into 4 groups listed in ascending order: 1) Sosan Gp, with 4 formations; 2) Kahochella Gp, with 4 formations; 3) Pethei Gp, with 8 formations, and 4) Christie Bay Group, with 4 formations.

Relationship:
It unconformably overlies granitic rocks, the Wilson Island and Union Island groups. South of the East Arm, it unconformably overlies the Nonacho Gp. It is unconformably overlain by the Et-Then Gp.
