Personnel Comments Credits New Submission Weblex Home American Geolex
The names of Canadian stratigraphic units have evolved over nearly two centuries. Some stratigraphic units bear names that are now understood to be culturally offensive or insensitive. Although efforts are underway to identify and update these problematic unit names, some names remain in use and thus appear in this lexicon. References to problematic unit names that have been abandoned may also be found in the lexicon. We welcome comments and suggestions from the public regarding any potentially offensive/insensitive stratigraphic unit names. All such input will be carefully and respectfully reviewed.
